Every signal on CoinStockPick is generated through a multi-step technical analysis pipeline. Here's an overview of our approach:
We collect real-time and historical price data (Open, High, Low, Close, Volume) from trusted API providers. Cryptocurrency data comes from CoinGecko, while US stock data is sourced from Yahoo Finance and Twelve Data. Data is validated for completeness and accuracy before processing.
For each asset, we calculate a suite of technical indicators: RSI (14-period), Simple Moving Averages (20, 50, and 200-day), MACD (12/26/9 configuration), Bollinger Bands (20-period, 2 standard deviations), and volume analysis metrics. These calculations follow standard financial mathematics used by traders and analysts worldwide.
Each indicator produces a sub-signal (bullish, neutral, or bearish). These sub-signals are combined using a weighted scoring algorithm where trend-following indicators (moving averages) and momentum indicators (RSI) carry the primary weight, supported by confirmation from MACD and volume analysis. The composite score maps to one of five signal levels: Strong Buy, Buy, Neutral, Sell, or Strong Sell.
